Finding true Salvation

For God so loved the world that the gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

What is the Gospel?

What is the gospel?

The word “gospel” means “good news”. Everyone, the Bible tells us, is a sinner both by nature and by choice. We have offended God’s holiness and broken His just laws.1 Not one of us, by our own merit, will be able to stand before God on judgement day,2 and be declared righteous in His sight.3 As things stand, every one of us is guilty of sin, and stands justly condemned before Him. However, as the above verse tells us, God loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world that we might live through Him.4 By His death on the cross, Christ took upon Himself the full punishment that was due for our sins. If you believe that He died for your sins, that God raised Him from the dead on the third day for your justification, and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, then you will be saved.5
